We’ve got great news from the Moscow Film Market: not only screen rights for VITA NOSTRA sold to Bazelevs Production, but the movie already in pre-production with the script get ready and approved!
At the presentation of Timur Bekmambetov’s Bazelevs Production company on the Moscow Film Market new projects were announced, including feature movie based on Marina and Sergey Dyachenko urban fantasy award-winning novel VITA NOSTRA (avaliable in translation as Kindle edition form Amazon.com). Movie script was written by Dyachenkos themselves and already was accepted by the producers. Project was set on fast track with the film premiere date aimed to the January 2014.
Timur Bekmambetov established himself as one of the Russian most successful movie directors after the premiere of fantasy horror Night Watch in 2004 and its sequel Day Watch in 2006. Since 2005 Bekmambetov has been working in Hollywood, where he directed and produced high budget action movie Wanted (2008), animated feature 9 (2009) and recent horror adventure Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter (2012). At the same time he developed more success in Russia directing and producing several national box office hits.
Studio presenting Vita Nostra as potential hit for Russian national market with strong chances for subsequent international success.
It must be noted, that Kindle edition of the novel was published with Bekmambetov’s praise, partially quoted at the front cover:
“VITA NOSTRA is a fantasy, but a fantasy so authentic that, having turned its last page, I thought that Marina and Sergey Dyachenko somehow know everything that happened to me during the first year of my adult life. I am so grateful to them for giving me another chance to relive those experiences; with all the means of cinematography at my disposal, I will do my best to convey the magic of those times.”
It looks like the promotion campaign for the international Vita Nostra movie release get the early start.
